23, 2009 Bargaining in District 3 resumed on July 20. We have very little time to negotiate a fair contract for our members from the greedy corporate managers at AT&T. District 4 (AT&T Midwest) has a tentative agreement that I would hope be unacceptable to our members here in District 3. Some of the main sticking points of the District 4 agreement are as follows 1. Health Care Premiums - spin it any way you want to its still premiums if you have to pay. 2. Prem Techs - lower pay and lower benefits for employees doing the work of ST’s, the question would be who is going to be surplused first, lower paid employees or higher paid employees doing the same work? 3. Leverage title for service reps - this means 40% of your base wages depends on your performance and the company sets the standards. 4.
New hires retiring will have to pay 50% of their medical cost. What
will the percentage be when they do reach retirement age? If this
kind of agreement comes down from our bargaining team I hope you vote NO
and reject it. We
have a union meeting on August 4 and the contract expires August 8.
If we don’t have an agreement by August 8 we will be at the union hall
Saturday night waiting for instructions to strike or work under the old
agreement please join us if you can. Remember 36.6 million dollars
profit daily is too much greed; tell the company we will not accept a
District 4 type of agreement. Stay Strong: Roger Todd
